Zael's Investigations Chapter 1: The 'routine' job

"GODAMNIT ZAEL, STAY WITH ME DAMNIT!" Garen yelled, but I could hardly hear him....... My near death haze was interrupted by the fact Garen had just given a cold hard smack on the face, I started angrily and then slumped to the ground. "O-Ow that's seriously bad..." I muttered, trying to keep a brave face, but to be honest I was majorly freaking out inside. This was supposed to be a routine sweep for large pests, but much to my surprise the place was instead crawling with giant scorpions, I hate scorpions. "WHY DID YOU EVEN DO THAT YOU LUMMOX?!" Garen yelled half-heartedly, if anything he seemed to be shouting out of concern, and now that I think it... It was pretty stupid, Garen could easily take these hits, I on the other hand was in 'armored' summoner robes (Which in all due honestly was akin to hardened leather armor rather then plate). I shrugged, unable to think up a good reason, and Garen then grunted and picked me up as though I was a feather. "C-Come on I can walk fine Garen!" I said, face turning a slight pink, I wasn't a little boy with frail limbs! But then my entire body was seized with immense pain, and I decided to stay silent for the rest of the journey to our camp outside. As I was carefully tended to by Garen (Who, as it turns out, was a fairly capable first aid practioner), Master Yi simply decided to stay quiet, correctly surmizing that Garen had thoroughly scolded me on the way back. Instead, he listened intently as I relayed the strange encounter with the giant scorpions, and after I finished he seemed lost in thought. It was at this moment Garen simply shot me a 'Your a real idiot, ya know that?' look, I simply sighed and said, "Sorry Garen.... I'll be more careful." I said, and although Garen didn't relax, he did look slightly happier about this decision. Due to my weakened state though, and the fact the stinger which rendered me so weak had pierced my teleportation amulet, we had to walk all the way home.
